It’s over a thousand languages that are spoken and 22 languages. Mother tongues in India number several hundred. Based on the Census of India of 2001, over a million speakers, 122 by over 10 speak 29 languages. Two languages have played a role in the history of India: English and Persian. Tamil and Sanskrit are the languages of India in accordance with the Government. Article 343 of the Indian Constitution admits Hindi in Devanagari script as authorities India’s official language. The Constitution allows for the continuation of usage of the language for official functions. Article 345 provides recognition to languages of the marriage to incorporate any language embraced by a state legislature as the state’s official language. 

There are languages in the centre and country level, but nobody National language. In 1967 Until the First Amendment of the Constitution, 14 official languages were recognized by the nation. The Seventy First Amendment and the Eighth Schedule provided for the addition of Nepali, Konkani, Manipuri and Sindhi increasing the number of regional languages of India. Tamil is an official language of Puducherry Tamil Nadu and Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Malayalam is the language of Kerala and Lakshadweep. English is their co-official language of their Indian Union. Whereas, in UK their widely recognized language is English along with English is recognized as officially recognized language is English by their authorities. 

The different states of India also have different official languages, a few of them not recognized by the fundamental authorities. Bihar in east India has 3 official languages – Hindi, Urdu along with Bengali – that are all recognized by the central authorities. In addition in east India, has four official languages of which only Nepali is recognized by their fundamental authorities. Aside from the languages officially recognized by fundamental or country governments, there are other languages which do not also have this recognition and their speakers are running political struggles to obtain this recognition. Central authorities decided the Hindi was to be their official language of India and for that reason it also has their status of official language in their states. 

Language in the United Kingdom. The UK doesn’t have a constitutionally defined official language. English is their main language and is hence the de facto official language. Immigrants have naturally led many foreign languages from across their globe. Indians are always aware of social order along with their status relative to other individuals, be they family, buddies, or strangers. The terms English and British don’t mean the same thing. Although in their past few decades, people from different backgrounds have had greater access to higher education, wealth distribution is changing and more upward\/downward mobility is occurring, the British class system is still very much intact although in a more subconscious way.
